The installation works of WTT at the waste treatment facilities in Kaunas and Zabieliskis are making very good progress.

The Kaunas facility, which is going to receive 220.000 t/a of MSW, is consisting out of 2 lines, both performing over 30t/h. The lines are containing; Shredders, drum screens, Ballistic separators, Ferrous magnets, Eddy-current separators, a total of 8 NIR optical sorters, two balers and also two bale wrapping machine. The drum screens, ballistic separators, Ferrous and Non-Ferrous sorters are in place and during the next one and half month it is expected that the shredders, NIR sorters and balers will be installed. The project is aiming on maximum recovery of recyclables, which will be baled and wrapped. In addition the organic fraction (< 80mm) is send for aerobic treatment (composting) on site. After aerobic treatment, WTT will refine the compost, ca. 75.000 t/a, by means of Ferrous and Non-ferrous separation, Screening and taking out hard particles. The Kaunas facility is commencing commissioning in June 2015.

The Zabieliskis facility, which is going to receive 20.000 t/a of MSW, is performing with a single treatment line at ca. 13 t/h. The line is consisting out of a Shredder, drum screen, hand sorting cabin, Ferrous magnet, baler and bale wrapper. All recyclables sorted by the hand sorters will be baled and wrapped. The organic fraction sorted by the drum screen is send for aerobic treatment (composting) on site. The mechanical installation is almost finished and in the next couple of weeks the electrical installation is finalized. The commissioning period is expected to follow shortly.
