Our Automation department is evolving from a traditional project organisation into a modern organisation where industrial automation, software development, AI and digital products come together.
As a Digital Product Engineer – Industrial Automation, you will play a key role in this transition. This position is specifically designed as a high-potential role: an investment in your development as well as in the continued growth of our organisation.
Your challenge
You will work at the intersection of industrial automation, software development and product management. You are not a traditional PLC programmer, nor are you a full-time software developer. Instead, you will help us further professionalise our Automation department into a modern Automation & Digital Products organisation.
Together with experienced Automation Engineers, you will contribute to the further development of our Automation Platform and Tunnel Vision Portal. You will help shape the vision, roadmap and quality of our digital products and ensure that new functionalities are developed and managed in a structured way.
You will have plenty of opportunities to learn, take initiative and gradually take on more responsibility.
What will you do?
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the product management of digital software products.
- Translating customer and organisational needs into clear requirements.
- Contributing to the development of the product roadmap.
- Coordinating software releases and version control.
- Improving software quality and development processes.
- Supporting AI initiatives and data-driven solutions.
- Collaborating with Automation Engineers, software developers and other stakeholders.
- Contributing to the further development of the Automation Platform.
- Helping to professionalise processes related to software development, documentation and lifecycle management.

Your career path
This position is specifically designed as a development opportunity.
You will start as a Digital Product Engineer, learn the organisation from the inside and gradually progress towards a position with greater responsibility.
In the longer term, you can grow into a leadership role within Automation & Digital Products, where you could become responsible for a team working on industrial automation, digital products, AI and remote services.

Who are you?

- Approximately 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
- A Master’s degree or an excellent Bachelor’s degree combined with relevant experience.

Jouw uitdaging
Je werkt op het snijvlak van industriële automatisering, softwareontwikkeling en productmanagement. Je bent geen traditionele PLC-programmeur en ook geen fulltime softwareontwikkelaar. In plaats daarvan help je mee om de Automation-afdeling verder te professionaliseren tot een moderne Automation & Digital Products organisatie.
Samen met ervaren Automation Engineers werk je aan de verdere ontwikkeling van het Automation Platform en het Tunnel Vision Portal. Je denkt mee over de visie, roadmap en kwaliteit van digitale producten en zorgt ervoor dat nieuwe functionaliteiten gestructureerd worden ontwikkeld en beheerd.
Je krijgt veel ruimte om te leren, initiatief te nemen en geleidelijk steeds meer verantwoordelijkheid te dragen.
Wat ga je doen?
Je houdt je onder andere bezig met:
- Ondersteunen van het productmanagement van digitale softwareproducten.
- Vertalen van klant- en organisatiebehoeften naar duidelijke requirements.
- Meewerken aan de ontwikkeling van de productroadmap.
- Coördineren van software releases en versiebeheer.
- Verbeteren van softwarekwaliteit en ontwikkelprocessen.
- Ondersteunen van AI-initiatieven en datagedreven oplossingen.
- Samenwerken met Automation Engineers, softwareontwikkelaars en andere stakeholders.
- Bijdragen aan de verdere ontwikkeling van het Automation Platform.
- Helpen professionaliseren van processen rondom softwareontwikkeling, documentatie en lifecycle management.

De integratie van het Tunnel Vision Portal binnen de Automation-organisatie markeert een nieuwe fase in de ontwikkeling van de organisatie.
Waar automatisering vroeger vooral eindigde na de oplevering van een installatie, worden tegenwoordig digitale producten ontwikkeld die gedurende de volledige levensduur van een installatie blijven doorontwikkelen.

Jouw groeipad
Deze functie is nadrukkelijk bedoeld als een ontwikkeltraject.
Je start als Digital Product Engineer, leert de organisatie van binnenuit kennen en groeit stap voor stap richting een positie met meer verantwoordelijkheid.
Op termijn kun je doorgroeien naar een leidinggevende rol binnen Automation & Digital Products, waarbij je verantwoordelijk wordt voor een team dat zich bezighoudt met industriële automatisering, digitale producten, AI en remote services.
Deze vacature is daarom niet alleen bedoeld om een functie in te vullen, maar vooral om te investeren in de toekomstige leiders van een belangrijk strategisch groeigebied.
